A Full Day Tour cost $150.00 U.S.D. One full day tour is around 12 hours Half day Tour Cost $120 USD and it is about 7 hours.

This rate include transportation in a recent model, air-conditioned vehicle along with the attentive services of the naturalist guide-driver. Our vehicles can hold up to 6 people plus luggage. This price does not included: entrance fees and any meals or extras along the journey, unless indicated. This price neither include any Tips.

You can choose any or the activities below if time frame will allow us, we will charge $20 extra per hour after the time set for the full day or half day tours.

TA001- POAS VOLCANO:
Duration: 5 hours
En route to Poás Volcano, you will drive through Alajuela province and pass by the statue of Juan Santamaría, Lake Fraijanes and Poasito village. Poás is one of the deepest active volcanoes in the world. Having last erupted in September, 1978, Poás emits a continuous flow of steam from vents adjacent to a lake deep within the main crater. A second crater, with a crystal clear, rain-fed lake surrounded by lush highland jungle, is located a half-mile away, via a trail through dwarf cloud forest. Among the 80 species of birds reported, several are unique to this unusual habitat. On the way back to San José, the group will stop at El Recreo Restaurant (or similar) for lunch (not included in tour price). Driving time from San José to Poás Volcano is approximately 90 minutes.

TA002- LA PAZ WATERFALLS GARDENS:
Duration: 5 hours
After arrival at the Waterfall Gardens Welcome Center, proceed down to the Butterfly Observatory (the largest in the world) where you will be able to walk among the colorful butterflies and flowers. A number of informational signs provide basic facts about several butterfly species from Costa Rica and their lifecycles. If your timing is right you will be able to release a newly emerged butterfly by hand. From there proceed up the trail to the Hummingbird Garden. At the Hummingbird Garden, the most species-diverse in the country, watch the territorial antics of the 16 different species known to frequent these gardens. After a hike to several of the beautiful waterfalls, have lunch on the outdoor dining terrace.

TA003- GRECIA AND SARCHI SHOPPING TOUR:
Duration: 5 hours

This tour begins with a wonderful drive through some of the largest coffee and sugar cane plantations of Costa Rica. Arriving first at Grecia, we will see the famous metal church, that has a rare and beautiful architecture. Next, we will tour the fascinating craftsman factories of Sarchí; where they build the famous oxcarts of Costa Rica. Splendidly decorated and in various sizes, these oxcarts are treasured worldwide for their unique beauty. You will not want to leave Costa Rica without one!.

TA004- SARAPIQUI RAFTING TRIP: SARAPIQUI:
CLASS II-III

Minimum age: 9 years
Length: 7.5 miles

A trip for first time rafters. Early morning pick up by your bilingual River Guide at your San José hotel. Stop en route for a typical Costa Rican breakfast and then continue to our put-in location at La Virgen de Sarapiqui. Total drive time to the put-in location is approximately 2 hours. After an orientation and safety talk proceed down the river. Stop for a picnic lunch on the riverbank. Total river time including lunch is approximately 2 hours 30 minutes. Mid-afternoon take-out followed by an approximately 2-hour drive back to San Jose via the Braulio Carrillo National Park.

TA005- SARAPIQUI FLOATING TRIP:
Duration: 8 hours

When you arrive at La Selva Verde Lodge there will be ample time to take nature walks along the river banks. After lunch you will board a boat for an exciting trip on the Sarapiqui River. Along the banks of the river you may see an alligator and hear the sounds of the howler monkeys.
Entrance fee and boat ride: $ 35.00U.S.D.per person; minimum of 4 pax.

TA006- SARAPIQUI LA SELVA BIRD WATCHING TOUR:
(Tropical Forest Adventure) Duration: 8 hours

La Selva Biological Station is owned and operated by the Organization for Tropical Studies (OTS) a consortium of more than 50 U.S. and Costa Rican institutes of higher learning. The studies being carried out at La Selva represent the forefront of our knowledge about tropical rain forest biology. Over 400 bird species have been reported from La Selva and include Crested owl, Rufous-vented ground cuckoo, sungrebe, Chestnut-bellied heron, and Cinnamon woodpecker. The diverse, lowland jungle is also home to many reptiles and mammals. Accompanied by a station naturalist on site, rub shoulders with field biologists while you explore this 30 year old jungle reserve. Driving time from San José to La Selva is approximately 90 minutes.

TA007- BRAULIO CARRILLO RAIN FOREST AERIAL TRAM:
Duration: 7 hours approximately.
No other tour gives you a more intimate view of the Rain Forest than a ride on the Aerial Tram. This open vehicle takes you through the canopy, skimming over hilltops, into the depths of Costa Rican jungle. The ride stops several times along the way for close-up views of birds and nesting sites. After 45 minutes you arrive at the end station and disembark for a walk along the forest floor.
What to bring: Light cloth, tennis shoes, raincoat, repellent, camera & binoculars.

TA008- INBIOPARK: The Gateway to Costa Rica National Parks:
Duration: 3 hours approximately.
It is and educational and recreational center where visitors will be exposed to samples of the vast world of biological diversity that can be found in Costa Rica and its National Parks, thus helping people understand the importance of preserving our biodiversity. Along the trails, you can find permanent exhibits of life species of poison frogs, bullets ants, orchids and more.
What to bring: Comfortable shoes, camera & film.

TA009- CAFÉ BRITT FARM TOUR:
Duration: 4 hours

This half-day tour begins at an actual coffee plantation. A presentation describes coffee production from the farming of the trees to the eventual production of one of the world's most widely-consumed beverages.
You will participate in a "coffee-cupping" (tasting session) with experienced coffee cuppers who will explain the different qualities present in a good cup of coffee.
Afterward, tour members can purchase packaged gourmet coffee at factory prices or have their purchases mailed to any location in the U.S. or Canada.

TA010- SAN JOSE CITY TOUR:
Operated by Expediciones Tropicales
Duration: 3 hours

Price per person: $26.00 (Valid until Nov 30'04)
This 3-hour tour includes visits to the National Theater, the National Museum, the 18 karat Jewelry Factory, the University of Costa Rica, the city of Moravia (famous for leather souvenirs), the Metropolitan Park, La Sabana, Legislative Assembly, and other spots of general interest.
Please note that this tour does not usually operate on Mondays as many museums are closed.
Includes: Transportation, entrance to the National Museum and National Theater, and the services of a professional bilingual guide, taxes and entrance fees in effect at the time of booking are included unless otherwise specified

TA011- LA GUACIMA BUTTERFLY FARM:
Visit the largest commercial butterfly farm in the Western Hemisphere, where visitors receive a guided tour in an enclosed tropical garden filled with hundreds of live butterflies. Participants will see the evolution of the life of these colorful insects and how they are reproduced for purposes such as natural pest control and silk cloth, or simply enjoy their beauty

TA013- CARARA NATIONAL PARK:
Duration: 10 hours approximately.

Carara covers a low mountainous area of 4700 ha. in a climactic zone of transition, from the dry North to the very humid coast of the South Pacific. Some of the seen birds are macaws, parrots, parakeets, guans, toucans, antbirds, trogons, kingfishers, birds of prey, waterfowls, etc. Among the mammals: monkeys, coatis, sloths, peccaries, tayras and jaguarondis are active during the daytime. Reptiles and amphibians such as huge crocodiles, iguanas and colorful frogs are quite common. After lunch enjoy a surrounding beach.
What to bring: Camera & film, binoculars, hat or visor, suntan lotion, walking shoes, swimsuit & towel.

TA014- LANKASTER GARDENS:
Duration: 6 hours

After our visit to the Basílica de Los Angeles we will drive to the Lankester Gardens. The Lankester Gardens are a Tropical Paradise featuring over 800 varieties of exotic orchids, various tropical flowers, and plant life. This tour continues with a ride through the unique beauty of the famous Orosi Valley and Reventazón River. The area is noted for its rich soil, abundant plant life, and the outstanding coffee plantations. We will have a stop for lunch in a restaurant surrounded by beautiful coffee plantations and an excellent view to the Cachí Lake. Along the way, we will visit one of the oldest colonial churches and see the enchanting "Dreamers House".
Suggested Equipment: Sweater, camera, binoculars, comfortable walking shoes, rain coat.

TA015- TAPANTI AND OROSI VALLEY:
Duration: 8 hours (Depends on the weather)

Tapanti Nacional Park formely known before as Tapanti Wildlife Refuge was established on April 23, 1992. It is forms part of La Amistad(Friendship) Consevation Area and is one of the most diverse areas of Costa Rica. It is located in Orosi district, in Paraiso de Cartago. Around 45 species of mammals, 260 species of birds such as quetzal, pigeons, doves; 28 species of amphibians. The rich abundance of vegetation includes different species of Bromelias, Ferns, epiphytes, palms, moss. A Walk in to the differents life zones of Tapanti will make you understand about the different eco_system in the forest.

TA016- IRAZU VOLCANO:
Duration: 5 hours

En route to Irazú Volcano National Park you will stop in Cartago, Costa Rica's former capital city, where you will visit the ruins of a church and the Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels. Continuing to Irazú Volcano National Park through the valley of Cartago, you can enjoy scenic views of cropland and dairy pastures.As a result of its last major series of eruptions (1963-65), Irazú presents an impressively bleak and barren landscape and two deep craters, one of which still contains active fumaroles. The stunted vegetation consists of many plant species unique to this highland habitat (11,000 ft. above sea level). On our way back to San José, we will stop for lunch (not included in tour price) at the Linda Vista Restaurant. Approximate driving times, San José-Cartago: 35 minutes; Cartago-Irazú: 1 hour; Irazú-San José, 90 minutes.
