Get on the bus, make yourself comfortable and get ready to experience the most interesting attractions and highlights of Costa Rica.
The Costa Rica Verde, especially designed to be a first introduction to the country's attractions and life style, allows you to get a general sample of this small land, its natural heritage and its people.
This program runs on a fixed departure basis.

Day 1: Arrival in San José. Meet and greet at the airport by your tour guide. Transfer to the hotel in the country's capital city.

Day 2: (B) Departure towards the country's northern region visiting Poás Volcano National Park on the way. Poás, located about 1:30 hrs away from San José, is an active volcano featuring one of the largest craters in the world with a diameter of 1.5 Km. Short hike through the nearby evergreen tropical cloud forest and visit to Botos Lagoon. After the Poás, you will head to La Fortuna, the closest town to Arenal Volcano. Later in the afternoon, visit Tabacón Hot Springs, which offers five natural hot swimming pools, Jacuzzis and river ponds surrounded by lush gardens, all with a magnificent view of the Arenal Volcano. The Arenal has been in constant activity for 30 years; with luck it is possible to observe the lava flows and hear the volcano roar. Overnight in the Arenal Region.

Day 3:
(B,L) Boat Excursion to Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge, located about 2hrs. away from La Fortuna. The centrepiece of the refuge is the lake, which covers 1,977 acres and receives up to 10 ft of water during the rainy season. The refuge hosts both resident and migrating birds, as well as a number of endangered mammal and reptile species. Lunch at a typical restaurant. In the afternoon return to La Fortuna.

Day 4: (B) Departure towards Monteverde visiting the Arenal Volcano National Park on the way, where your guide will lead you on a short hike in the forest on the skirts of the Arenal Volcano. Afternoon at leisure in Monteverde.

Day 5:
(B)Guided walk in the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. This private reserve host one of the richest ecological systems and one of the most important virgin cloud forests in the country. The nearby community was founded in the early 1950s by North American Quakers -dairy farmers who established cattle ranches that can be seen along the nearby roads. Overnight in Monteverde.


Day 6:
(B) Departure after breakfast to the Carara National Park area (Central Pacific), located 25 minutes away from Jacó Beach, and about 3 hrs away from Monteverde. By the afternoon you will have a tour to the nearby Sky Way. This tour combines hanging bridges with walks along nature trails running through tropical forests, typical of the area. Overnight in the Central Pacific Region.

Day 7: (B) Leave after breakfast for the visit to Carara National Park, a low mountainous area spread over 4,700 Ha of unique rainforest, forming a transition between the dry northern zone and the lush rainforests of the south. With a little luck, it is likely to observe wildlife at the reserve, such as macaws, parrots and toucans, iguanas, monkeys and sloths. You will also have time to visit the nearby beach of Jacó, where you will spend the rest of the day. Overnight in the Central Pacific Region.

Day 8: (B) Departure to the International Airport (2 hours approximate driving time) visiting on the way the town of Sarchí, where you will have time to buy local art crafts and souvenirs. - For travellers making a beach extension, we will arrange a transfer early in the morning. Note: travellers departing at early morning flight shall consider adding one night to stay in San José, as check-in is to be done three hours prior to the flight's departure time.
