ARCO IRIS LODGE, MONTEVERDE

They are all surrounded by tropical gardens, which attract a large diversity of birds. La Quinta offers a quiet and friendly atmosphere, as well as a spectacular insect museum. The main building offers an air-conditioned dining room, swimming pool, souvenir shop, a game room, and a bar. This countryside lodge is located just 9km / 5.6 miles from La Fortuna Town, on the way to the Arenal Volcano. The rooms have been built using a wooden structure, which provide a warm, and comfortable atmosphere. There are 52 rooms, 25 of which are standard and 27 junior suites with air conditioning. All rooms are equipped with a telephone, private bathroom, hot water and a terrace with a view of the Volcano. The junior suites have other facilities such a hair dryer, mini refrigerator, coffee maker and an additional terrace overlooking the mountain. Tucked away in the middle of a tropical humid forest, the Sarapiqui's Neotropical Center is a new and revolutionary concept in ecotourism. It has 36 double rooms, all of which are thatched and modelled on the pre-Columbian house style known as a "palenque", with 1 double bed or 2 singles, a fan, private bathroom, water heated by a natural solar heating system and a balcony. It also has 6 standard rooms, situated in the same building, that have a queen size bed and 2 twin beds, a private bathroom. Other facilities include: bar and restaurant service in a thatched ranch, small meeting room, and a local aboriginal museum.

SUEÑO AZUL, SARAPIQUÍ
Built within a 35 acre / 14 hectare farm, this hotel is one of the closest to the entrance of the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. It features 40 spacious wooden-built rooms with private hot water bathroom, mini-bar, tables, and balcony. There are 20 standard rooms and 20 junior suites (the latter being bigger than the former) of which 8 have two double beds and 12 have a king and queen size bed, living room with a sofa, refrigerator, and a nice attic room upstairs. This country club is located in Muelle, San Carlos, 40 minutes from the Arenal Volcano. The resort has a total of 76 rooms, all with air conditioning, satellite TV, a private bathroom with hot water, fan, telephone, and safety deposit box at additional cost. The 50 standard rooms have two double beds; the 6 King rooms feature 1 king size bed. All the 16 Junior suites have two double beds plus one sofa bed, and a table with two chairs, while the 4 Family suites have two double beds, a small living room, and refrigerator.
