Rapids on the Sarapiquí River:
Categories II and III, the La Virgen and Chilamate section. An exquisite day, more than 20 rapids while surrounded by the spectacular scenery of the tropical rain forest. Sarapiquí is a dream for white water rafters: natural waters, risky rapids, and crystalline pools. Enjoy the natural splendor and abundance of wildlife.

Boat ride on the Sarapiquí River:
Ride from one to three hours on this river in a boat with a roof and capacity for 25 persons. It embarks from Puerto Viejo downstream and offers the possibility to see monkeys, sloths, waterfowl, and alligators
Hike in the La Selva Biological Research Station:
Walking through the forest of Selva Verde accompanied by a nature guide, learn about the interesting ecosystems of the rain forest, and its flora and fauna.
Butterfly Garden, Botanical Garden, frogs, heliconias, and hummingbirds:
Take a two and a half hour walk in the midst of the butterflies of Selva Verde and learn about the world of these fascinating creatures and their host plants where they live.
Museum "Jewels of the Rain Forest":
Here you are introduced in a special way to the bumblebees, butterflies, frogs, and other fascinating creatures of the rain forest. This entomological collection is property of the biologist Richard Whitten.
Horseback riding:
Riding for approximately two hours, experience the incredible sensations of a horseback ride in a rain forest and its surroundings while observing the delightful rural scenery and wildlife of the area.

Bicycle ride:
For the adventurous who wish to explore a part of the rain forest, the Arenal volcano and lake, as well as a mountain road on bicycle, this ride offers an excellent scenery. Observe a large variety of birds, as well as howler monkeys and red coati. This takes approximately four hours. Includes transportation, assisting vehicle, bicycles, snacks, drinks, water and cookies.
Canopy in the area:
Experience the forest of this region from a completely different perspective, gliding from steel cables that take you where the majority of the birds and many animals spend most of their time: the treetops. Choose between the Tabacón, La Fortuna, and Eco-Lodge canopy tours.
Venado Caverns:
The caverns were formed in the Miocene period some fifteen to twenty million years ago. For a long time they were submerged in the depths of the ocean, however, due to the movement of tectonic plates, the caverns rose to form part of the surface. Discover in one visit the limestone rock, stalactites, stalagmites and corals which make up the caves. Located only an hour from La Fortuna, these caverns offer an unforgettable underground mystical adventure. If you're ready to get wet and muddy and to see amazing stalactites, stalagmites, bats and subterranean streams, then join us! On this tour, we'll be trekking through some narrow winding passages

Boat ride on the Arenal Lake:
The Arenal Lake is the largest and most important lake of the country, an artificial lake built in 1974 for the purpose of producing hydroelectric energy. In this area you will find a huge variety of resident and migratory birds, and mammals like the monkeys and sloths. Riding on the lake you will observe the west side of Arenal Volcano and flashes of eruptions when the sky around the peak of the cone is clear.
Day Hike to the Arenal Volcano:
Our Arenal Volcano hike through the rainforest is one of the best ways to experience the mighty "Mountain of Fire." Hike through the diverse flora and fauna to the famous lava wall where you will walk on lava rocks from ancient times and observe lava boulders tumbling down the flanks of Arenal. You could get the chance to see the glowing cinders from the crater and hear the booms from gas eruptions as your professional guide educates you on the activity and history of the marvelous volcano. A dip in the Tabacon Resort hot springs after the hike is available upon request (entrance fee to Tabacon Resort is not included).

Enjoy the natural splendor and abundant wildlife. Distance for section around 11 kilometers each one Duration: all day three and a half-hours in the river Minimum of operation: 2 people

Toro River Full Day, class III :
A very exciting tour, only for people with excellent physical condition and prior experience. Along this section you will see many cliffs, great falls and lush tropical vegetation. For lovers of rafting and nature.
