Hike in the La Selva Biological Research Station: Walking through the forest of Selva Verde accompanied by a nature guide, learn about the interesting ecosystems of the rain forest, and its flora and fauna.

In San Carlos enjoy the following activities: Bicycle ride: For the adventurous who wish to explore a part of the rain forest, the Arenal volcano and lake, as well as a mountain road on bicycle, this ride offers an excellent scenery. Boat ride on the Arenal Lake: The Arenal Lake is the largest and most important lake of the country, an artificial lake built in 1974 for the purpose of producing hydroelectric energy. In this area you will find a huge variety of resident and migratory birds, and mammals like the monkeys and sloths. Riding on the lake you will observe the west side of Arenal Volcano and flashes of eruptions when the sky around the peak of the cone is clear.

Day Hike to the Arenal Volcano: Our Arenal Volcano hike through the rainforest is one of the best ways to experience the mighty "Mountain of Fire." Hike through the diverse flora and fauna to the famous lava wall where you will walk on lava rocks from ancient times and observe lava boulders tumbling down the flanks of Arenal.
