tours offered from Turrialba leave from and return to the
Casa Turire hotel, nevertheless, transportation can be arranged
from other hotels as necessary:
| Visit
to the plantations:
This tour of two and a half hours will take you through
coffee, sugar cane, and macadamia plantations, to
then see the processing plants for these crops. Coffee
is harvested from July to November every year, the
sugar cane from February to June, and the macadamia
from December to June. If you would like to take part
in the work on the plantations, participate in the
gathering of coffee beans. |

Horseback
riding through the hacienda:
Ride on mountain trails specially designed so that
the striking views of the plantations and the valley
of Turrialba (including the church, school and soccer
field) can be admired. The tour lasts approximately
three hours and includes the equipment for horseback
riding. |

Hike
in the primary forest:
Guided
by an expert naturalist, be prepared to penetrate
a virgin forest full of plants with medicinal qualities,
gigantic trees, scurrying animals, and learn about
Mother Nature's regenerating and purifying powers.
The hike can be done in three hours, but those who
enjoy being in the forest may prolong the tour to

our country and from the first moment will award

National Monument:
This archeological sanctuary is located 19
kilometers from Turrialba and shows traces
of the Indians who inhabited Costa Rica between
1000 BC and 1400 AC, around which time they
